XT Commerce vs. Magento

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can help me, i have a client who is looking for a new platform and the 2 solutions that we have narrowed it to are XT Commerce and magento. I'm wondering if anyone can give me any info on why we should use XT Commerce over Magento - any reasons that you have will help be it functionality, support, integration. Let me know.

well, each system is different and may fitt better for different requirements.

without knowing the requirements of the customer exactly, its difficult to give pro or cons, also the targeting market is important.

from our bigger projects (>35.000 EUR) we usually getting following feedback from our integrators:

- xt:Commerce veyton requires less resources (important if customer needs clustering etc)
- development of own plugins/modifications is faster and easier with veyton
- better integration in 3rd party products (erp/etc) here in europe
- templating easier and more flexible on veyton with smarty

this normaly results also in a lower project price for customers, with the same functionality at the end.

Thank you for your quick response on this. In terms of requirements, the client operates 6 brands which all have their own back end systems (ERPs) so the back-end of the site would need to accomodate this and allow each to control their brand via the CMS.
Can you confirm if you offer any of the following;
1) PCI Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) Compliant
2) Product support via service level agreements including telephone support
3) Warranty
4) Indemnification

Can you confirm if the following are included as off the shelf functionality;

1) due we are not saving any creditcard data in the system and have different payment integration than magento, there is no requriement for PCI DSS within the system, customers are using PCI compliant Payment gateways. (ogone, safecharge etc).

2) SLA with max 6 hours response time, faster response and phone support available in individual SLA plans

3,4 covered by Law and License agreement
